New subsidiary in the United States: A giant leap for Kinéis

The French-based company recently opened its new subsidiary in Washington DC, Kinéis Inc. A real opportunity for this satellite connectivity providerto expand its business across borders.

The United States represents an important market for the IoT sector. One of the major steps in accessing this regulated market is to earn the Federal Communications Commission’s certification. This certification allows telecommunication companies to acquire highly prized local radio frequencies.

Thanks to the Order and Declaratory Ruling (FCC 21-18), Kinéis entered the US market in November 2021.
To encourage this growth in the US market, the company took part in the annual industry conference ‘Satellite 2022’ held in Washington, DC. Furthermore, to have a bigger impact, propose better-suited solutions, and have closer proximity to its customers, Kinéis started their hiring process while there. Since May 2022, Kinéis welcomed Christian WOOLDRIDGE and Brian KANE as North America’s new Directors of Business Development.

Brian J. Kane,
Director of Business Development North America for Kinéis.

Brian is responsible for leading commercial sales and business development with end users, value-added manufacturers, and resellers. Located in the Washington DC metro area, Brian is a seasoned sales and marketing veteran of the Satellite Industry. He has held management positions at COMSAT and International Satellite Inc. and has decades of experience in the maritime, utilities, and oil and gas markets. Brian holds a BS in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University.

Christian Wooldridge,
Director of Business Development North America for Kinéis.

Leveraging his experiences while serving in the US Army
as a SATCOM Systems Leader for nearly a decade, Christian is a 20-year SATCOM and Telecommunications professional with a passion for helping public and private sector agencies find cutting-edge solutions for complex problems while delivering secure, reliable connectivity to enable edge devices. “In my employment, I carry on that tradition while serving my clients and colleagues in collaborations that shape the future as we work to bring ‘IoT Everywhere!’

This new ecosystem is already bringing strategic partnerships to the table with diverse Value-Added Resellers and Value-Added Manufacturers. Use cases are infinite and range from Agri-Tech, Environmental Conservation, National Defense, Smart Grid, and beyond.

To support their rapid growth, Kinéis has a scheduled launch of an additional 25 LEO satellites that complement their existing fleet. This will complete and democratize the constellation and this connectivity. As a small step, Kinéis has also opened other strategic subsidiaries such as in Canada, Brazil, and a Singapore office to cover the APAC arena. Much like their constellation, they are making an impact, globally.
